Giancarlo Vargas is a Queens NYC born native of Cuban and Dominican decent. He uses his collage and mixed media artwork to portray the plight, experience and beauty of 1st, 2nd, 3rd generations of the BIPOC community in America, more than not through eyes of a gritty New Yorker. He is a firm believer that an image can speak a thousand words if not many more and that we carry on our ancestors culture, voice and legacy each and every day. His artwork seeks to portray just that. Giancarlo is a featured artist in our Made In Queens exhibit.
